Who are we ?

KAN has its origins in 2018 when students from different climate organizations within Maastricht felt like they needed a voice to represent those of us who are concerned about the climate within the University and Faculty Councils at Maastricht University.
Today, 6 years later, we proudly achieved to foster a climate community within Maastricht, and not only that but also, with the help of our representatives, we implemented a number of policies, initiatives and activities that we cannot help but to be proud of!
Giving back
At our roots, we are a political party - that is true. However, today we are so much more than that!
As election season is not everything that we do, KAN uses its resources towards giving back to the community which surrounds us! Art Galleries, Climate Cafe’s, Courses about climate, movie screenings, workshops, parties and so, so much more!
The Community
The Sustainability Hub is our home, and our home is the Sustainability Hub.
We have been residing in this building and community since our inception, since the very people that wanted to have that representation in the first place, are the very ones that exist or existed within the hub.
This building has its legends, its memorable people, its good, and, inevitably, bad times. It really is a place where you can feel as part of something bigger than yourself.
